Aw man. If you speak to her again, please send my condolences. Thanks for the condolences Ned. It is now the popular belief around here that my friend did NOT commit suicide. The Nashville police are investigating. From what I hear the forensics don't add up. But it is still listed as "apparent" suicide. Anywho, I'm ready to jump back in. I have yet another funeral to go to in the next few days. This was a boy in a car wreck. This makes 3, so this loss should stop now right? God, I sure hope so.

Sorry for all the chaos that's hit you at once. These things are problems when taken singly, and adding them together makes things worse by exponents.
I apologize for the delays on my own part; it's a very hectic work week calling for 10+ hour days, plus we're still trying to remember what sleep is after our trip halfway across the country.

It was good seeing you guys again. I can't believe how big your daughters have gotten since we saw them last, especially Laila. And I know Soren had a good time playing with them. Hopefully you'll be able to make it out this way again some time when you can hang out a little longer.

Hi guys,
Sorry for the lack of posts lately. I managed to corrupt an integral system file on my home computer and I can't find my windows cd key to fully reinstall. I have a friend who's helping me get back online but it might take a little while. We've crossed off the easy options without much success so I'm into Mcguyver territory now. Anything to avoid shelling out a couple hundred dollars to rebuy my OS.

Anything to avoid shelling out a couple hundred dollars to rebuy my OS. Could give Linux a go. As a long time linux user, I second the motion If you head over to www.ubuntu.com/getubuntu/download and get a CD, you can boot from that CD and use linux without actually doing anything to what's already on your computer. Then, if you feel so inclined, the CD comes with partitioning software that will allow you to dual boot both windows and linux.

Friends!
I come before you bringing word of a most miraculous event! I have received a visitation from our lady of the immaculate single core processor, and lo the demons of my hard disk have been banished into realms beyond mortal reckoning! I must now spread the word amongst the faithful, so gather hither as I relate the auspicious events! Having rebooted my computer for the umpteenth time, presently having exited from Ubuntu wherein I had transfered all of my important files to a backup hard drive, I turned away from my monitor in search of the windows boot disk from which I intended to reinstall.
My eyes averted thusly, I did miss the 'strike any key to boot from cd' prompt and a curse most foul issued forth from my lips. But yea! To my surprise four colored panes that did demarcate the apertures of a portal of fenestration appeared above the saintly and most blessed of all words LOADING WINDOWS. My breath caught in my throat... could it be, I wondered?
Yes! Verily it was! My critical system error had corrected itself through no work of my hand, and I can only credit divine provenance for my new success. The lord giveth and the lord taketh away... and then sometimes regiveth for no obvious reason. For He is mysterious and works in mysterious ways!
Now I sit in fear, for I wonder what will transpire should I reboot again. Perhaps I will endeavor to maintain this log-in instance until the day of Rapture, when the Lord does return to earth to dispense new quadcore processors to all of His faithful servants.
Yours in faith,
Exile

Ubuntu fixed it without you even telling it to. Behold, the power of Linux!

Having lots of computer troubles (took two minutes to load a reply page, a four-minute youtube music video stopped loading less than halfway after almost an hour), and lost my job this week to boot. Sorry for delays.

I've got no excuses, I'm just an awful person. Knocked out a couple, and I'll try to do some more today!
Of course the road to somewhere is paved with good intentions...

I'm glad to see the boards have been lively in my absence. There's more than a few new faces here I see.

Yesterday was a big workday, and my Thursdays are work + evening rehearsal. Might get the chance to reply to posts/PMs late tonight; failing that, tomorrow. Thanks for your patience!

So, going on a road trip for about a week and a half. Vahn's running out of ideas anyway, so "stay behind the meatheads" is about all that's left, and that should last me until I'm back. I'll post if/when I'm able, but the laptop is being withheld from me (she won't actually get her finances done while I'm gone, but she's telling herself, and me, that she will), so don't expect much. Will be meeting up with my old D&D group while I'm down out and about, so maybe I'll actually get the material I need to be useful... heh >_>
