The veneration rite is done -- no live sacrifice tonight, but a litany of praise to Graz'zt and the burning of a black ox-tallow candle along with the chanting of curses to rival Abyssal Lords (a practice only performed in Sigil, where they cannot possibly overhear, for the Lord of Patience never shows his hate to his foes). The cultists depart the vacant building singly, several minutes apart as not to be followed (for there is no trust among the wicked).
"You have ingratiated yourself to Her Presence, we understand." Hilathic turns to find himself face-to-face with the fanged mask of Polos. His soft, intense voice is almost accusatory, but it always is, even when he's pleased about something.

"I have." Hilathic makes a production of bowing before Polos, deeply and respectfully. "She has taken a quick trust to me. I would like to strengthen that trust further, while helping her achieve the right frame of mind to wear the Mantle. Tragedy has not brought her into the correct frame of mind... revenge I am sure will." Hilathic's eyes flash and his voice raises well above his normal whisper when speaking of his new plans to help Wraith become the goddess he knows she can be.

"You propose leading her to strike against us?" asks Polos. "A bold gamble."
Falling silent for a few seconds to consider this proposition, the Thrall concedes, "We have laid still for too long. What do you require to enact this plan?"

"I require a sacrificial lamb. Someone who had personal knowledge, if not a roll in the abduction of her son. If this works it will prove that our theories on nurturing Wraith, rather then forcing misery upon her, is the proper course of action. I do not need to speak out loud a name, there is obviously one among Varen's supporters that would send Wraith into most likely a violent rage if she where to learn of his involvement in what has happened to her. Wraith deserves justice for the injustice that Varen and his supporters brought upon her and now is the time to act."

"We understand your passion for retribution. But he is established, and his disappearance may be difficult to bear." His tone suggests that he's testing patience and commitment, encouraging further argument.
"The service should also require another cook."

"A cook favoring you, Polos, would greatly increase your standing next to Varen. They have over stepped their bounds and we are at a turning point where risks must be taken. If Wraith finds out my role in all of this, my life to could end up forfeit as well. It is a sacrifice am I willing to make for the greater good of Graz'zt." Hilathic smiles evilly realizing if his plan succeeded all would know he did what needed to be done and his place would rise. Wraith would praise his loyalty and devotion to her and he would be her champion.

Polos' hard black eyes stare out from behind his mask. "Fidrath's influence among the Fated has proven invaluable to the cult. Before we act, we must be assured that it can be replaced."

"It is of course, but a suggestion. Maybe there is another less important guard or henchman that can be used? Someone that no one will miss? Someone there would be no fear of retribution if noticed missing?" Hilathic words made this course of action seem a cowards choice. Yet felt he needed other options because he did not want his plan to fall through.

Polos falls silent to consider the options. "Melpom would be an easy target, but useless to you. Qabru is too difficult to find, Jo'or too valuable. Kuasettsa and Domori... are possibilities.
"However, if you could find a cook -- or learn the trade yourself -- and put a Taker on your leash, disposing of Fidrath would do a great service to us all. But be wary of playing into Varen's schemes. Her Presence may not survive if the foundation of her life is torn from beneath her. Act with patience."

"Then the cost is to great, even if we found replacements for his abilities, that would switch the suspicion of his disappearance on to us and away from Lepiat's supports. For surely Varen will suspect retribution form Lepiats supporters, played a role in the disappearance at this time. I have no need for rash actions, just well thought out plots.
Kuasettsa could end up being an supporter for our cause. Domori would be the next best target, though a powerful one and difficult to trap. I doubt my piper tricks would work on the hard minded Doomguard." Hilathic knew he was walking on thin ice, and his tail showed it as it flicked back and forth nervously under his ceremonial robes. Pausing for thought Hilathic leaves an opening for Polos to respond.

After more consideration, Polos again speaks up. "Fidrath's connections are only used so extensively because he volunteers them so often out of pride. If he is disposed of, we could stand to quietly take over his influence and leave a power vacuum that Varen's supporters would scramble to fill."

"Whatever you feel is best for us and for Wraith." Hilathic lowers his head in seeming respect to Polos decision.

"This decision is yours, to succeed or fail as your mind, will, and patience conceive of it. We will not intervene more than we feel necessary."
