"All prices and sales are final," the tiefling repeats with the same tone and mannerisms. "For ten gold pieces, you purchase accumulated knowledge that will likely save your life. Here is a bit of free dark: when using elemental magic, a spellslinger must make an offering of the opposite element, or the spirits of the plane will be piked off and force the spell to fail. There are many ways to make enemies of the Arborean spirits; they are as fickle as the plane's powers."

"Thats worth the extra jink right there. I imagine thats why I thought you to be my salesperson." Vatndir pulled the coins from his hidden pockets, and produced them to the salesperson. "I'll take the key knowledge as offered."

After a few moments of waiting, an aide returns and hands a scroll case to Vatndir in exchange for the appropriate funds. "Thank you," he mumbles before hurrying along to another attendant.
The tiefling's smile is artificial, gone as quickly as it came. "Will there be anything else?"

"I think not" Vatndir said, heading for the door. He parused the scroll quickly, to see if there was anything that captured his imagination in it. Anything he should buy now, rather than wait. "Shall we Wraith?"
[OOC: If there is anything that catches his eye, I'll stop, otherwise, I'll move us along to the next point of interest.]

Rhenai walks into the crowded tent, looking around for a salesperson. He sees the tiefling dealing with that water genasi and his friend again, and goes over to look at the goods on a nearby shelf until they're done. Once they're finished, he stops the tiefling, putting a hand on it's shoulder. "Excuse me good sir" he says, showing his slightly pointed teeth in a smile. "Can you give me some more information on this spell key, please?" he asks, unknotting his belt pouch and removing the scroll case with the rag in it, handing it to the tiefling.

The tiefling turns to Rhenai, rolling her shoulder as she is touched, hooves tapping on the dry ground as she takes a cautious step back to put herself at a more comfortable distance.
She accepts the proffered scroll case, popping open the end and pulling out the rag with a furrow of her brow. "This doesn't strike me as any kind of spell key," she says, opening it, turning it corner-to-corner. "I am at a loss."
Taking a long stare at it, she nods. "Whatever it is, it radiates magic in a way that resembles a spell." She offers back the loose rag, adding, "Someone here must recognize it. Have you checked the Spell Formula tent?"

"Yes, actually" Rhenai says, taking the rag back. "In fact, I just came from there, the gith behind the counter said to come here for more information, and that all he could tell is that it is a spell key to Ysgard." Rhenai explains.

"The graybeards working in the Magic Theory tent might know better. That gith was grossly mistaken -- this looks like a spell formula. We do offer key guides to many planes, however, Ysgard included, should you have a need for one." A faint spasm in one of her legs causes her hoof to rap against the ground suddenly; she doesn't appear to notice. "In many cases, an appropriate rune must be engraved or inscribed on the material components for a spell to work on Ysgard; we can provide appropriate keys for all common spells if you so desire."
[whisper=Rhenai]I'm not sure if you're confused as a player, or just roleplaying a Xaositect very well. : ) Just in case it's the former: to clarify, the scroll tubes you got were... - Full of bugs - Scorching Ray - Key guide to Ysgard - Oily rag [/whisper]

"Thank you ma'am, I think I'll try the magic theory tent now. Have a good day". And with a smile and a wave, Rhenai takes the rag back, puts it in his pouch, and heads towards the magic theory tent. [whisper]I thought that the rag was the spell key, but if that is the way a genasi acts, then I can keep playing like that. EDIT: Do you have a thing about genasi I can read that canhelp me understand how they act? [/whisper]
