After the return to Sigil, Vatndir decided he had to do two things. First, he needed to find a place he could permanently stay. Second, he needed to find a better way of traveling between the worlds. Simply dragging people along didn't seem to have the organization he desired. But first things first.
Vatndir wandered everywhere he could, trying to make a little money where he could by selling crafted shells. Fortunately, in doing so, he solved his main housing problem. He was thinking that it would be great if there were an inn that understood the joys of clean water and the beauty inherent in the sea. No sooner had he put his mind to such an inn did he come across the Open Shell Inn. Obviously, if such a place had always existed, he would have found it on his first visit, so this must have created itself and woven into the history of Sigil while he was looking.
He entered and was taken aback at the beauty of the central pool. It was a good 5 minutes before he came too enough and realized he had to talk to the owner. Vatndir attempted to work his charm, and negotiated room and board at the Inn. The owner seemed confused that Vatndir wanted to rent the pool itself, but eventually convinced Vatndir that he should rent a room with a lock (to store his stuff if nothing else) and then he could use the pool to his hearts content. Vatndir accepted with joy, and began negotiating the exchange of crafted shells and other interior decorations for food. The discussion took quite some time, but eventually Vatndir won out. Vatndir so enjoys when his mind makes people with whom he can really negotiate.
Having settled into the Open Shell Inn, he immediately contacted Nilou, Holgar, Pia and John and let them know where he could be found.
He checked Tensar's but nothing really grabbed his eye, so he continued exploring Sigil, poking in and out of places to look at their treasures and discover what Sigil had to offer. Two places struck his interest most. First, he found the Signers to be quite fun, if misguided. Second, and more importantly, he discovered a place that developed/studied elemental magic. He poked around their scrolls, items and tomes, and realized that this could be a great way to expand his watery knowledge. He returned during the day and took some basic instruction in spellcraft and other magical arts.
After he was fully rested and stuied up, he realized that Tensar's hadn't posted anything because his mind knew he needed the time for training, study and relaxation. Now, with that completed, his mind would surely release a worthwile job. Sure enough, upon returning to Tensar's he watched them post a new listing which could work out perfectly. He took a copy, and sent word to the others to meet him the next day at the Open Shell.
