(Caylean, a tiefling guard and tour guide at the Shattered Temple, as well as a rare Athar with a friendly disposition, has called for a few of his favorite namers by courier to meet him as early as possible today at the faction headquarters.)
"Hey, cutters! Glad you could be here. I heard a bit of chant that I'd like investigated, if you'll take some jink for the ride."
Stepping in closer, he adds excitedly, "I'm talking about something so barmy, so far out of mind that it couldn't happen in... not in a thousand years! I need to know -- Factol Terrance needs to know -- the real dark of what's going on out there! Can you help me?"

Xianna sighs and rolls her eyes. He is the most chipper Athar I have ever met, she thinks. "What is it Caylean? What in the nine hells could have you this worked up? Is there some kind of skulduggery afoot that you aren't in on?" Steps by him and sets her pack down. She yawns and stretches, working the kinks out of her neck and back. "Why don't you have some good spirits and some food brought, and we can talk." she says whilst cracking her neck.

Drej finishes polishing his horns and turns letting his black fur toga 'swoosh' as he does so. He moseys up to Caylean, flexing his huge muscles. He pulls both of his broadswords out and stabs them into the floor and leans on them, "Yes, pray tell, what could you want done..?" He growls a little and flashes a glance over at Xianna, looking her over a tad. One could easily tell he is trying to judge her by the cover for starters.

Xianna ignores the human's blatant attempt at intimidation. I've seen scarier pups in Carceri, she thought to herself. But she kept quiet. He was an Athar, and that meant something.

Ripping his swords upward and puting them back into their sheath he walks over to Xianna, keeping an ear out for anything Caylean might say. He looks her over a moment at a closer view, "So who might you be little lady.. Not sure I have seen you around before..." He munches a handful of the nuts and berries he has from his pouch.

"The name's Xianna, the call me Fury in the ring. And as you failed to notice, I'm not little, and I barely pass as a lady." She flicks her forked tongue at the word lady. Then she smirks and asks, " I stay unseen unless in the Blood Pit. And what do they call you basher?"

Drej chuckles, "The names Drej, Drej Sorcel." He pauses a moment and looks her over again, "The 'lady' was not meant as an insult to your skill, I sence you might have taken it that way." Drej begins polishing his horns, "I will have to make a note of it to visit the pit, perhaps give you a go around ifn it leads that way." He smirks a little, "But for now I guess we should see what it is Caylean wants of us.." He turns and bellows, "C'mon, spit it out already. For being so cheerful you sure do clam up fast."

(Caylean is represented by someone with two kids age two and under; excuse his slow response time. ) The guardsman excuses himself from the courier who had arrested his attention for a moment. The gleam in his eye and his excited tone return in an instant. " Scan this: there's a wounded deva that uncovered some important dark on an Abyssal Lord, but got himself nicked bad before he could give 'em the laugh. Now, he's got to have himself dragged through Elysium by a few unlucky planewalkers, trying to make it back to his 'power's' realm so he can spill his brain-box. I don't expect anybody knows what can hurt a deva so bad that he has to be carried home!" And it only gets barmier! Somehow, there's a bebilith involved -- right on the Restful Plane with all the others! I could only guess why it's there, what it's doing, or how it got there... it's all so addle-coved that we need a few reliable bashers to park their ears a bit closer to whatever's going on." He knowing looks to Drej and Xianna, studying them for a reaction. (For any unfamiliar element in the previous explanation, feel free to make a Knowledge (the Planes) check for a helpful tidbit or explanation.)

Drej looks hard at Caylean and raises an eye brow, "And out of curiosity, where exactly are we parking our ears, the abyss or Elysium?" He chuckles a little, "And where's the nearest entrance."

Xianna looks at Caylean slightly cross. "Bebilith huh? That's a nasty creature. But, as you know Caylean, an encounter with that won't be half as hard as banging around in Elysium will be for me. Although, I am itching to get out of the Cage." The tiefling flicks her tongue, and shifts her eyes between Caylean and Drej. "A lot of do-gooding I'll have to do," she mutters. "Seems a little barmy, and a bit risky, but you know me, for the right jink, I'll go anywhere!" She looks over at Drej, " Hope you packed your what-nots, it seems like we'll be gone a tick. And I hope you ain't in a hurry, we'll have a lot of side jobs to do just to get around. They don't take kindly to tieflings up there see, being from Carceri and all." She waits to see if Drej is up to taken on the burden of traveling with a tiefling through the restful Plane.

Elysium. Don't worry, cutter, I wouldn't ask anybody to go to the Abyss." Caylean flashes a grin. " If I hear right, the whole parade actually traipsed right through the Cage, over in the Guildhall Ward. I don't know where their gate was, but I'm sure somebody remembers a bebilith crossing 'is path." Xianna looks at Caylean slightly cross. "Bebilith huh? That's a nasty creature. And I'm sure the high-ups will reward any worthwhile dark that comes to light out of this." The tiefling looks to Xianna, then Drej, wavering his gaze between them. " You'd might want to see if you can find some more muscle on your way out of town, if you've got friends between here and the Gymnasium -- I'm sure you're both capable bloods, but this is sodding important, and I don't want you to take any more chances than you have to. Maybe somebody's heard the same chant over at the Foundry? The Godsmen would twig to this story, too, I'd imagine."

Drej nods to Caylean, "Sounds fair enough." He turns to face Xianna, "Well if you want to come then they will just have to deal with a tiefling being around. I am in a hurry to get moving so noone has a cold brainbox when we decide to give it a rattle." He scratches his chin, "Got anyone inparticular you know that could hold his own? I don't want to get stuck watching out for extra's ifn' we don't have to." As he says this he takes the offered jink and begins heading to the door.

Xianna thinks for a moment, and frowns. "I have few to no friends. I may have an ally or two, but I doubt they would like this kind of trek. Let's see who's up for dying when we get to the foundry."

Drej chuckles as he walks out the door, "You and me both, those that I know are back on the beastlands."
After getting out the door away from Caylean he looks at Xianna, "Now not to seem like I have an empty brainbox, but I can't say I know what a bebilith is. You seemed to have a better clue then I did. Care to fill me in?" He chuckles, "Not that it worries me, just always good to know as much as one can."

Xianna chuckles and cuts her eyes at Drej. "A bebilith, my new companion, is a demonic creature from the Abyss that resembles a giant spider wearing barbed iron armor. It's best known for preying on tanar'ri. It's quite the beasty, and not one to be forgotten tromping through the Cage. Which is why it's so barmy that the whole of Sigil isn't all up in a tizzy over it." She adjusts her pack and sighs. "Like I told Caylean, I'm not too concerned with the bebilith, they think tieflings taste bad." She gives a sly grin and looks at Drej to see if he believes her. "It's the traipsing through Elysium that could pose a problem. I've got a Baatezu bloodline, and they aren't too keen on devils there." Her eyes flash red as she savors the thought of causing trouble, then it subsides and her eyes return to yellow. "But hey, like you said, they will deal with it."

Caylean shares an appreciation for Xianna's comment about a bebilith's eating habits, letting out a low, closed-mouthed chuckle.
"Most Elysians -- the petitioners anyway -- are willing to give any spiv a fair shake. Sometimes two! But the celestials, the Guardians, and a few others set on their own brand of goodness, well, they can be a right problem." He shrugs. "The less trouble y' start, the less you'll find yerself in."
The Defier counts out ten platinum pieces for Drej, and ten for Xianna. "Besides! Just tell 'em there's a bebilith over the next hill, that oughta keep 'em off your arses," he adds with a grin as he hands over the coins.
