I'm not sure how much you do/don't know about the setting, so here's a quick glossary for the post:
Deva: A powerful variety of aasimon, a race of angelic beings in service to the gods of the Upper Planes.
Abyssal Lord: Extremely powerful tanar'ri or other fearsome beings who rule one or more layers of the Abyss and are near ascension to godhood.
Elysium: The plane of pure goodness, where charity and good deeds move a traveler to his destination faster than his own two feet. Also called the Restful Plane.
