Flaws:
Baatezu Heritage (5) - Tumult is only six generations removed from his Amnizu forebear, so his Baatezu traits are quite obvious to those who know what to look for.
Stench (5) - Tumult does not sweat. Rather, he secretes a silty substance not unlike wet ashes when he exerts himself. This substance smells like a mix between brimstone and burning garbage. He attempts to keep this in check through regular bathing and use of perfumed oils, but has little success.
Unease (10) - Again, being only six generations removed from his fiendish ancestor, this would seem applicable.
CP total = 5 starting points + 20 points from flaws. 25 CPs.
Ambidextrous (2) - Tumult's constant performances using complex two-hand marionettes (as well as multiple simpler puppets at once) has led to his being ambidextrous.
Fiendish Immunity - Cold (15) - Tumult is closely descended from an Amnizu, which are the Baatezu guardians of Stygia, the frozen hell. He benefits from his ancestor's immunity to cold damage.
8 CP remaining.

All fine -- as far as tiefling traits go, I've always played it that the combination of human[oid] and fiendish genetics results in something entirely unpredictable. A tiefling's racial abilities and even appearance have very little to do with either side of the family, a great part of what gives them such a reputation as loners. If you still find the selections conceptually appropriate, by all means, keep 'em!
So, tiefling for sure... still going with Bleaker? Do you have a class and alignment in mind?

Ah. I was working off the basis that a fiend and human offspring is a half-fiend or cambion, and so a tiefling is essentially less fiendish than a cambion the further removed he is from his ancestor (and more fiendish the closer his relation).
I'm going to go with a true neutral thief. True neutral in that he values the concept of good, but has difficulty overcoming his nature - not that he necessarily values balance above all else.
I may drop the cold immunity in favor of a thief class ability, in light of your take on tieflings, but I'm not sure yet. I intend to put some more work into the character late this evening.

I like it (specifically, thank you for not choosing a good-aligned tiefling... we had an angsty goody-goody one for quite some time -- a fine character concept in theory, but very annoying in practice).
As far as descendants of fiends, tanar'ri breeding with mortals make cambions and alu-fiends, who in turn can parent tieflings. Yugoloths and baatezu of all varieties can be the direct parents of tieflings.
When originally I ran this game in a modified D&D 3.X, this was represented with game mechanics... for example, the descendant of a fiend and a tiefling sired by the same type of fiend would have a major fiendish bloodline, and possibly also the half-fiend template. A fiend-human pairing produces a tiefling with a moderate bloodline. The potency of the fiendish blood is diluted in the descendants unless their parents are both of sufficiently [...pure?] blood.
In switching back to 2e, this can be basically be represented by spending CPs on a tiefling's racial abilities (the groups of fiendish powers, specifically).

Cool. So I assume that many of these fiendish abilities can be purchased later and treated as late manifestations?
Sorry it's taking me so long to finish the character. Last few days have been packed.

That they can -- and it's no problem at all; we're on a bit of a lag as one of the most frequent posters is off honeymooning. I'm probably going to take this opportunity to hunt for some more players; if you know anybody who'd be up for it, I'd be glad to have them.
Do you have any particular goals in mind for him? He doesn't seem the type to raise a Blood War army (though how hilariously awesome it would be if he did), but is there anything in particular he wants to accomplish with his life?

Well, deep down he is still on a search for meaning - I originally imagined him as a bleaker who's heart wasn't in it, but the more I consider the character, the more I lean toward Sign of One, Sensate or Cipher. I think I may end up going with Sensate.
He's infatuated with the simple morality of the primes, having watched many plays and read many stories about knights in shining armor and fair maidens and such. He feels worn down by his lack of an inner moral compass, and the complexity of morality on the planes makes it even more difficult for him to be noble and good.
What he wants is a simple code to follow, that he can get behind. Maybe he had as much trouble picking a faction as I had picking it for him, haha. In that case, he's probably just settling for the Society of Sensation until he finds something true. He believes he'll know he's found his destiny when he sees it - like love at first sight.
