Hadrian returns to his cell after a day's work to find Kopek grooming himself lazily next to a burlap-wrapped parcel. A brief missive is tucked beneath it.
Research into matters of the Powers has turned up an enchantment that will extend the life of a burning object by several hours. Enclosed are a scroll bearing this enchantment, and a flask of oil of everburning. These were all that was to be found on short notice. Use them with discretion; return them if possible.

Hadrian pulled off his leather gloves and tossed them onto the threadbare cot. Reaching for the unexpected parcel, he took a seat behind his ancient wooden writing desk and laid it down upon the battered surface. He was lucky to have it; most of the Gatehouse cells were not so luxuriously appointed. The desk had been left by a previous occupant along with a fair amount of graffiti, some of it rather ominous.
After scanning through the missive for a moment, Hadrian pulled back the burlap folds to have a look at the contents.

Within the package are a small flask of syrupy, amber-colored oil and a thin wooden scroll case accented with onyx and gold.

Setting the vial aside, Hadrian carefully unclasps the decorative scroll case and extracts its contents. Unfurling one of the parchments, he briefly intones a few arcane syllables and with a sudden clarity of vision he begins to read.
(Casting Read Magic, which does not trigger the scroll. What house is the spell? What is its duration? Can it be cast multiple times on the same object with cumulative effect?)
