Everyone may have noticed the Dark Sun board at the very top of the main page. I'm going to use the same premise for a fresh start on that game: city-owned slaves forced to fight for their lives in the arena (the game will branch out from there if the PCs choose to -- and successfully -- escape). I'm gradually adding information on the world's races, as well as unique classes and kits.
If anybody's interested, here's the spot to sign up!

I plan to put together a new threat based on the PCs we get.

What're we signing up for now?
Stix pointed me this way from another site, and I was bored enough to start walking =P Something about Dark Sun and slaves, I'm game.
Oh, HI NED! /hyperactive wave

Hi Shadow. Dark Sun game, we start out as slaves...hopefully don't stay slaves too long.

Sounds fun, but what kind of slaves?
...oh wait, is says that. Gladiators. Right. Well, I've got a few ideas, so just let me know when things are happening and what rules we've got.

I'm in (or rather will be in, once I get through this mess). Always wanted to play a Thri-Kreen.

Thinking of a mul myself, they sound interesting.
Hmm, is physical appearance measured by Cha, or is it judged some other way? Seems that different DMs do that differently, would be good to know what Stix's way is =P

I'm definitely playing a mul. Probably Gladiator, or possibly Fighter, it'll depend on the Gladiator class specifics once Stix gets around to posting them.
Usually Charisma (in Stixian games) serves as sort of a combination of physical appearance and force of personality. One Cha 18 character might be incredibly gorgeous and fairly sociable, while another character with the same Cha score might only be a little above average in appearance but has an incredibly persuasive demeanor. Still a third w/ Cha 18 might be a good balance of attractive and likable.

Gladiator will be straight out of the Dark Sun boxed set or Gladiator's HB. I haven't seen any S&P-style writeups for it, so I'm probably going to snag a few buyable class abilities from Fighter, Ranger, Thief, and possibly Bard.

I’ve had some time to consider the options now and I’m leaning towards a Thri-Kreen Fighter/Psion. Just wanted to voice that before I start treading on people’s toes. I’m assuming level 1 for all new players?

Dark Sun games (according to the books) usually start PCs at level 3. This one I will need Stix to weigh in on as I've played in previous DS games he's run starting at 1st and 3rd levels
