You know what.... let's just go ahead and skip to Method IV: 4d6 twice or 4d6 arrange
I assume this means roll sets of 4d6 twice then take one set, but ability scores are in order. OR, 4d6 and arrange them to suit my own taste?

You'd choose which one before making the roll:
4d6 twice for each stat, take them in order; or
4d6 once for each stat, arrange them how you like.
Which would you prefer for methods two (3d6), four (4d6) and six (5d6)? I'm still going to make the rolls for the other methods, just so you know which stat sets you can choose from (and which ones your antagonists will be using).
