Posting Rules
- Play your own character, not anybody else’s. “God-modding” is when a player writes on behalf of other characters – where other PCs are concerned, this is a mortal sin in a play-by-post game. Writing actions and dialogue on behalf of NPCs is acceptable in freeform, provided they don’t do anything too extreme (no randomly attacking people, no conveniently leaving money in your hand by accident, etc.). Posts in which this is done are susceptible to editing for flavor or content, or deletion if things are too far beyond the pale. - Take a realistic approach to the environment and your character. Yes, this is a fantasy setting, but nobody can take part in/overhear every conversation in a noisy pub, and no one has the time to frequent every building in Sigil. There are over a million warm bodies in the Cage at any given time - Please try to keep posts between 100 and 400 words. Anything less, and you probably haven’t done enough to merit a reply; anything more, and you’re putting down more than most people will want/be able to read and react to in one sitting.
