"Ahah!" the Madman shouted in satisfied victory, his gambit having paid off in full. Now to bring the great bloated bat down to earth. He could think of a dozen ways - some suicidal, others merely ill conceived. Settling on one that was six parts one to half a dozen of the other, the aasimar's lips once more traced out the arcane syllables of a devastating evocation. The fiend's heritage might protect it from some measure of the flames, but no creature could fly safely through the concussive blast of a fireball.

Tllith flaps her wings excitedly as two nycaloths fall to her breath. "I did something! This is weird: It was a useful something!"
And then she scampers into battle between John and Abaia, giving her fearsome warcry of: "John! I am sorry! I do not have your knees just now! I need to guard the bebilith's knees! I think that is because it has so many more knees than you do! After its knees are safe I will come guard your knees!"
And, of course, she remarks to the mezzodaemon fighting Abaia, in between attempts to bite it, "Excuse me! I think you should have gone to sleep! You would be much more comfortable if you did! You could go attack another mezzoloth! If you do that we will let you have a very nice nap afterwards!" She's trying to be glib, but I don't think that even gets a roll.

Or maybe I have no idea how this board works. I did 'preview' to see the die rolls -- and IIRC the system even logged them -- , then wrote the total in the post, and when they got posted, the die rolls were all different.
Sheesh.

Tllith harries the mezzoloth assaulting Abaia, providing the Cipher and bebilith the opportunities to wound it. Still, its spear finds purchase in the Abyssal hunter's steely carapace, and Abaia lets out a pained telepathic growl, full of terrible malice....
John and Nuuko advance on their own fiend, pressing it away from the spider-beast. The mezzoloth focuses its attention on deflecting John's attacks, disregarding Nuuko's longsword as clean blows glance off of its unprotected skin -- but when it spots the silver broadsword, it makes certain to knock it aside. Glancing back to the spot to which it was summoned, another rift between planes appears, opening with another reeking gust of hot ash and spitting forth another mezzoloth before sealing shut.
Hadrian's spell knocks the nycaloth to one side, causing it to lose control -- and altitude, to boot. It reaches for the Bleaker to plummet talons-first into him, but falls ten feet short, digging its claws into mere soil. Tearing up large clods of earth as it stands, it snarls at Hadrian, pure hate in its eyes.
The newly-arrived mezzoloth looks to its fellows killing one another, then to the bebilith and the growing fiasco around it, before settling its gaze on the lone Jocyl and advancing toward its fallen fellows....

(By my count Hadrian's AC is currently -1, with a combined -4 to hit so the net effect is the same. Additionally the first attack leveled at him automatically misses due to his displacement.)
"Taker!" he shouts above the din. "Your prize is waiting!"
Squaring off against the greater fiend by himself, the Aasimar knew he would be overwhelmed before long. The best he could hope for was to even the odds until help could be summoned.
"Come get me you bastard!"

The moment the second portal opens, Jocyl feels it in his bones. A nervous look up confirms his fear as he sees a lone but, more importantly, unoccupied, mezzoloth approaching him, attention focused. With a silent prayer, he reverses his grip on the silvered short sword and drives it downwards with all his might into the closed eye of sleeping fiend at his feet.
The deed done, he high-tails it for the nearest group of petitioners he can find, hoping that they'll at least slow down the mezzoloth should it choose to chase him.

Nuuko looks momentarily surprised and thoroughly enraged that the solid blow he landed seemed to bounce off of the creature's carapace. Noting the determination the mezzoloth gave to fending off the broad sword, the Athasian sheaths his longsword and continues the attack with the lone, pilfered weapon.

Round 7:
Tllith's tail lashes back and forth. She'd really like to go protect Hadrian, whom she respects considerably, and John, whom she actually likes. But she's sort of responsible for keeping Abaia safe. As she fights, she explains matters to the fiend she is fighting: "This is weird! If you keep fighting this big monster, he will kill you all over! But if you fight that other nycaloth over there, you will kill him. Then you get to go do things you enjoy! Also, you won't be dead! Your call!"

John turns, surveying the situation and finding it wanting, at best, as Hadrian stands alone against the Nycaloth. He will allow the surge of the fight with Nuuko, Abaia, and Tlilith to go past him, giving him a clear line of assault back to the Nycaloth which hopefully has his back turned, then rushes towards it, going for a rather dirty combination of blindsiding and groin-battering, the first blow of the morningstar hurtling towards the Nyc's knee, the 2nd blow wrapping the flexible weapon up and against the huge beast's groin. It's a very blood pit sort of manuever, but this has turned into a massively chaotic free for all, and this is no time for any sort of duelist's manuevers.

(Dunno if there are any modifiers for engaging the thing from behind or whatnot. John's rolls just aren't up to snuff for whatever monster he engages for the moment. :E )
