Hadrian chuckled dryly, evidently unmoved by the Taker's rankled words. " Come, we've tarried long enough. You still have a debt to pay." Tllith waddles along, singing to herself and anyone who wants to listen: You still have a debt to pay, You still have a gnoll to slay, You still have a mind to flay, You still have a song to play, You still have a freezing ray, You still have an attaché, You still have a date in May, You still have a wench to lay, You still have a slaad that's gray, You still have a while today, You still have a debt to pay!

John simply listens to the song in silence, nodding to Tllith briefly, acknowledging the toddling dragon's song.

John simply listens to the song in silence, nodding to Tllith briefly, acknowledging the toddling dragon's song. After singing a while (and, OOC, noting that our DM is engaged in subtle meditations and deep thoughs), as we're walking along, Tllith asks, "What is your favorite food? What do people eat in Sigil?" of everyone.

"Rat meat wasn't bad in the Hive ward, growing up, when you could get it." He pauses, and thinks now, "If I can get actual beef, that is a rare indulgence." WHen the query regarding food comes up, John responds, "Most likely everything, and anything. At times, things you didn't even think were eatable. I suspect at least some of the things in Sigil eat rocks, for example."

My favorite treat is spoons though, wooden cooking spoons. They're all spicy!"

"What does that have to do with anything?" Ghaeldan asks.
[[Sorry, Tllith, I'm having some unexpected roleplaying difficulty.
It's one of those moments you have sometimes when you finally start writing a character after designing him in your head for years, when you suddenly discover that he never told you he has no sense of humor.]]

" What does that have to do with anything?" Ghaeldan asks. "You said you can't find good ones," explains Tllith. [[Sorry, Tllith, I'm having some unexpected roleplaying difficulty. I thought that Ghaeldan had a nice understated dark sense of humor. Whatever he may say about himself!. -- But no matter. I'm just marking time 'til Stix gets back to the plot.]]

Ghaeldan is silent for a moment before responding. "It's damn near impossible to find roast halfling worth having in the Cage," he clarifies.

" It's damn near impossible to find roast halfling worth having in the Cage," he clarifies.6.0 Tllith peers at Ghaeldan with gleaming black eyes, all sympathetic if not all understanding. "Oh, no! That's terrible! Where do you find roast halfling worth having?" She thinks a half-second. "This is weird: I don't think there's any in Elysium. At least I've never heard of anyone eating it here. Sometimes we have roast sheep. That's very like a halfling, I think."

John keeps quiet, since he knows very little about halflings, having never encountered one before (that the player can remember anyway).
"Roast goat is not bad, if you can get it." He will finally venture, after Tllith changes the subject to animals as food again.

"Roast goat is not bad, if you can get it." He will finally venture, after Tllith changes the subject to animals as food again. "I can get it," says Tllith pensively, "Or at least I can get it if there's a goat around." She wriggles her tail, remembering the just-passed fight. "I could kill a goat just as if it were a feeble little mezzoloth! But I don't think I could roast it. Not very easily anyhow. I've only got so much heat breath. And I'd wind up roasting everyone for yards all around if I tried."

A meal of mutton is little like halfling," Ghaeldan says. " It is heartier than hobbit, but seldom as sweet."

Ghaeldan's eyes unfocus, and, swallowing hard, he extends a restraining hand toward Tllith.
"Please, dragonet, don't. My stomach is sick enough on this putrescent plane; it needs not your enthusiastic encouragement."

My stomach is sick enough on this putrescent plane; it needs not your enthusiastic encouragement." Tllith flicks her tongue at Ghaeldan's hand, tasting his scent, and then rubs her cheek on it like a sociable lynx. "Oh, no! We need to get you off the putrescent plane! Maybe to the lutrescent lake! Or the foutrescent phoenix nest! Maybe we should talk about something else! What do you like to sing?"
