Armed with names, some idea of where to look, and the prospect of a reward he very much wants in his mind, John begins to scan the debt records of Sigil for a Cambion by the name of X'artru Blackmantle, or mention of Aerin, the half-elven boy. John suspects he may have been used as a slave or been part of a lien, either tax or debt-oriented, so he crosschecks information, and checks the soul-debt section specifically for Blackmantle, knowing as he does that the ones most likely to traffic in souls are those of the lower planes.
(Ask for any rolls necessary, or any confrontations if the information is above his pay grade.)
Unusually for John in the Hall of Records, he's fully armed and armored. He may need to start and impromptu fight for rank within the organization of the fated to get this information... or word about Blackmantle might... be protected. Regardless, he takes precautions, the way a paranoid bastard who survived 15 years in the hive would.
