(This thread is first-come first-serve; if anyone else would like to jump in on this job, please start a new thread with a different time stamp.)
The chalk slate in the large window of Tensar's Employment Service boasts a bright new job listing.
Discrete minders needed for brief foray into Ysgard. Travel expenses and provisions paid, must provide own weapons. Wilderness survival skills a plus. Wage: 25 GP.
Utadas Tensar, master of the establishment, greets you with an encouraging smile and a nod as you cross the threshold. Despite his age, the Guvner has a full head of hair and thick, close-cropped beard, both a deep red streaked through with gray.
"Good day, cutter," he says graciously, motioning to the seat across from him. "What can I do for you?"

Drej eyes the job carefully, "Seems easy enough. Who's the who and the when?"

(Tensar does individual interviews, so if anybody apart from you would also like a spot in this job, they should start a new thread on a different day or at a different time.)
"A member of the Bleak Cabal requires a personal escort through potentially hostile territory. Departure will be within the next few days; the employer is to contact me again in short order.
"Have you any relevant experience?" the elderly Guvner inquires with interest.

Drej chuckles heartidly, "I am from the beastlands, wilderness is my territory." He flexes his huge muscles, "I am pretty sure I am well equipped to guard some berk on his way to Ysgard."

"I should say that would qualify," Tensar says with a smile. "Combat experience?"

Drej smirks, "Not to many man up against someone such as myself, most decide its not worth their life. I keep myself in the best shape incase I find someone barmy enough to step up. But other then the obvious, I can't recall any recent berk barmy enough to give it a run."

"Very good," says Tensar with a smile, rapidly making notations on the form in front of him.
After a few minutes of general details, the businesslike but friendly Guvner dismisses Drej. "You're all set for the trip, cutter. I will contact you by courier within the week -- would you do me the courtesy of procuring lodgings within the Clerk's Ward? The employer would like to be able to leave at a moment's notice."

Drej nods, "Tis fine with me." He turns to head off, with his back to Tensar he asks, "So level with me Tensar, you have done this many times. From this berks reaction to your questioning, He holding anything back?" He laughs, "Not that I am worried, just wondering what kinda of berk I am dealing with, whether he gives up all his information or just tidbits."

"Truthfully, I get the impression that you'll be working for a middle-man," Tensar says without reservation. "He wasn't elusive about anything during the interview, but rather seemed to be genuinely unaware of the full details of his trip. It happens all the time in this business -- someone hires a capable planewalker to go out of town for some reason, and that basher in turn comes to me, looking for a few minders to make sure nothing eats him."

Drej nods, "If you say it, its good enough for me. Just give me a hollar when the berk is ready to move on." At that Drej takes his leave.
