Yla lets out a sharp breath in frustration as Kale escapes her grip. Glancing to the discarded nine-ring blade on the ground, she attempts to maneuver the fight in its direction

Round 14
AC -2, THAC0 15
Having defended herself until she's found an opportunity to reclaim her fallen weapon, Yla instead draws from her hip and prepares for another assault.

Initiative [dice=10+3] (Saber sp 4, +4 to draw, -2 Quickness, -2 Reaction, -1 Cipher bonus)

Hissing in displeasure as his blade is turned aside by nothing more than the woman’s hands. Kale waited for an opportune moment to strike as she reached for her blade…

(God is it ever... Nice build on this NPC btw, I like her. I know magic is against the rules but are ranged weapons allowed in the ring?)
Kale pulled back from the Cipher, his blade held up defensively while he waited for a more opportune moment to strike.
Full parry. AC -2

(God is it ever... Nice build on this NPC btw, I like her. I know magic is against the rules but are ranged weapons allowed in the ring?) (Magic and ranged weapons are disallowed due to the likelihood of collateral damage. Magic items and innate abilities are permitted, provided they don't endanger spectators.) (As for Yla, I make a random roll to determine the difficulty of a Blood Pit fight. Kale's received the toughest NPC opponent so far, so I figured she was worth some extra oomph -- hence the extra maneuvers, some tactical versatility, and the badass natural AC. If this fight doesn't prove fatal for either of them, expect her to crop up again from time to time... the context will depend on the outcome of the fight, naturally. As Kale awaits her attack, Yla seizes the opportunity to recover her fallen sword. (Attack of opportunity for Kale vs. AC -2, then on to the next round.)

Kale could do little more than watch as the fight slipped away from his grasp, and perhaps his life along with it. He had one, perhaps two hits left in him before the darkness descended upon his gaze for good… It was now or never.

I don't know if its too late to declare this, but can Kale full parry this round? (That's fine. Technically, a round is supposed to be: - All combatants declare actions
- All combatants roll initiative
- Resolve in initiative order
...but since that would take forever in PBMB terms, I prefer to err on the side of moving the game along.)
